CustomerEagle gives you a clear, free way to ask us to delete personal data we hold about you. This page explains who can request deletion, how to do it, and what happens next.
To reach us, email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
Who can request deletion
- Account and workspace users — anyone with a CustomerEagle login (owners, agents and administrators).
- Visitors and end-customers — people who chatted with a business through a CustomerEagle widget, help center or messaging channel.
- Anyone whose personal data we process — you can exercise your right to erasure under the GDPR (Article 17) and comparable data-protection laws.
You may submit a request yourself or through an authorised representative.
What you can ask us to delete
You can ask us to delete personal data such as your name, email address, phone number, chat and message history, support tickets, and other information tied to your identity that CustomerEagle stores. Some records may be kept where the law requires it — see Backups and legal retention below.
How to submit a request
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your data, using the subject line "Data deletion request". You can also reach us through our contact page — email is the fastest route.
What to include in your request
To help us find and verify your data quickly, please include:
- Your full name.
- The email address (or phone number / user ID) you used with CustomerEagle.
- The workspace or business you interacted with, if you know it.
- A short description of what you want deleted — everything, or specific data.
How we verify your identity
To protect your data, we confirm that a request genuinely comes from you (or your authorised representative) before we delete anything. We may ask you to reply from the registered email address or to provide limited additional information. We use that information only to handle your request.
What happens after you submit
- We acknowledge your request, usually within a few business days.
- We verify your identity and locate the relevant data.
- We delete or anonymise the personal data in our active systems.
- We confirm in writing once the request is complete.
Timeline
We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. For complex or high-volume requests we may extend this by up to a further two months, as permitted by the GDPR, and we will tell you if we need to.
If you administer a CustomerEagle workspace
If you run a workspace, you can also manage and delete much of your data directly from your workspace settings, and export data before deletion. Closing your workspace begins deletion of its data in line with our Terms and Data Processing Agreement.
If you contacted a business that uses CustomerEagle
When you talk to a company through CustomerEagle, that company is the controller of your data and CustomerEagle acts as its processor. The quickest route is to ask that business directly. If you contact us instead, we will help by forwarding your request to them and assisting with the deletion.
Backups and legal retention
Once verified, we remove personal data from our active systems promptly. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups until they are overwritten in our normal backup cycle, ordinarily within 90 days. We may retain limited data where the law requires it (for example, invoicing and tax records) or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Cost
Exercising your deletion rights is free of charge. We may charge a reasonable fee, or decline, only where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, as allowed by law.
